How do mainstream comics stack up against indies on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters? Is there still a tendency to push gay characters to “mature readers” comics? Or, with the launch of DC Comics’ Batwoman, featuring the first lesbian superhero to headline her own book, and the introduction of Kevin Keller, Archie Comics’ first gay character, is being gay simply becoming a non-issue in comics?
